Ramona Jar

Hi there, I’m Ramona Jar and I’m a geek 🙂

When I was 20-something, I started karate and really struggled with it for the first months. So, as any geek would do, I hit the internet and started reading about this weird sport and all the Japanese involved. As I became more active in forums, a nickname appeared: dojo.

Since you cannot be a bonafide geek without your website, dojo.ro was born and so my next lifelong obsession with web design. I learned furiously about karate and web design at the same time, started dabbling in forum theme design and management and finally, after 2 years, at my brother in law’s idea – started my web design company: Dojo Design.

In the fall of 2007 and started blogging at dojoblog.ro and have done it for quite a while.

After immigrating in the US and having to focus on rebuilding my web design business from scratch, I became inactive on my blog. I still commented on a handful of blogs, whose owners don’t promote bullying and can accept a respectful debate, but it wasn’t enough. I have so many past readers who have reached out, wanting to know more about life in the US, plus a new cohort of readers who are, like me, the parents of a Type 1 kid.

So, here it is, ideas and thoughts “by Dojo“.

Feel free to read and comment.

My rules are simple: you can disagree, but you shall not be nasty towards me or my other guests. It’s like you coming into my house and shitting on the carpet. You’ll get evicted eventually, since the only one who did it (and stayed) is our dog Iris, when a puppy. And I bet my gray hairs and wrinkles you ain’t that cute 😉
